I haven't worked with colored pencils in this way for decades...must get back to this media more. Will post finished product as well :)
This one has taken quite a bit of time to paint. It was painted on gessoed pine wood, very rough hewn, and 9 by 12. I wanted to capture the scene in a rough hewn way as well. This is from a photograph my husband took in Florence, Italy while at a conference. It was over cast, misty, yet the grasses were dry and seemed to capture a sunny effect. It is not finished, just needs more details. I wanted to capture the sharp, dark colors in the trees while keeping the misty background. Foreground needs more depth. My phone camera is horrible!
